Tasman is three!

Well, I've already violated my promise to blog weekly since I missed last Sunday. But today I have an especially good reason to blog. It was Tasman's third birthday on Friday! And we have the photos to prove it:

This was the pile of presents. And this didn't even include two boxes from my parents, who weren't able to be there for the Friday celebration. (They came over today, Sunday.) You'd think it was Christmas or something.

Tas got a Backyardigans cake.

Thanks for the balloons, V!

Mommy and Tasman, looking cute.

The infamous birthday hat. We bought this hat at Disneyland long before Tasman was born with the intention of making it a family tradition. So we're likely to see this hat pop up in photos from time to time.

Yummy birthday cake.

This is Tassie's ghetto pressie. Kirsti found this Sesame Street radio-controlled race set for six bucks at a consignment sale. The plastic and tape on the right end were there when she bought it; the lid had obviously been torn off. We were amazed that nearly all the pieces were there. The only thing missing was a little four-wheeler that goes on a little trailer that the car pulls around, but its absence in no way alters the functionality of the rest of the set. (If we had been missing pieces of the track, that would have been problematic, but they were all there.)

Vanessa made this little hat for Tas.

There were lots of other cool presents. We didn't get photos of everything. Tas got some wooden food toys: one was a Bento box with toy sushi, and the other was a cutting board and some food that can be "cut" into pieces. (The pieces are held together with Velcro and when you cut through the slices, the Velcro separates, making a very satisfying cutting sound.) She got a stuffed rabbit, lots of princess dress-up apparel, the movie Sleeping Beauty, a fake CD player that plays Disney songs, a giant Magna Doodle, and several cute outfits. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. But that's because there was a lot of stuff. What a spoiled kid!

And thanks to Papa and Meme (David and Roxann, Kirsti's parents) for hosting the party at their home and preparing a lovely dinner.

Hmmm...nice photos, but I am not sure why you felt the need to photoshop some other person's kid into the pictures, clearly that cannot be Tas, she is too big! I am going to be the annoying aunt who every year on her birthday thinks (and often says) the same thing, "I can't believe how big you are! I remember holding you when you were just 4 days old!" lol We went to a friend's house for dinner and were talking about how we are the lone-family here in CA, and how different it will be now that you guys are farther away.

I hope Tas had a great birthday, looks like she had fun. Glad to see you blogging a bit more now that you are moved and finished with school, it is always fun to see what you guys are up to. =]

Hi dear Raleighs!! Oh how we miss you around here! We think of you often and wonder how Utah is treating you? Bet you're pretty darn cold up there, huh? How are you feeling, Kirstie? When is your exact due date? We're so excited for you and the new little one that will be arriving soon! How teaching going, Sean? We know you will be successful no matter where you go or what you do! But we just wish it were here in San Diego!
Happy, happy 3rd Birthday to beautiful (and I do mean "beautiful") little Tas. She's so grown up and so adorable. Glad she had a happy birthday! You should learn from an old pro that had kid's that had b-days in November............HIDE some of the presents for Christmas. They'll never know! Altho Tas might........she's one pretty darn smart little kid!
Know how much we love you and truly miss you....... when are you coming back to San Diego??
Have a wonderful Christmas!
All our love......Diane and Bob x0
