School bus

Tasman is fascinated by buses. She has been ever since our San Francisco trip last summer when we rode the bus all over town. The other day she spotted a bus and said, "Look, a school bus." I replied that it was not a school bus; it was a city bus. She seemed a bit confused, so I elaborated. "If it's yellow and black, it's a school bus."

A few minutes later, Tas pointed out the window enthusiastically. "Look, a school bus." This time, I was confused since there wasn't any kind of bus to be found anywhere. "Where is the school bus?" I asked. "Over there," she motioned even more emphatically. "Where?" "Over there!" I looked carefully at the side of the road where she was pointing, and then I finally figured it out. There was a yellow road sign with a black arrow on it. She took me very literally when I said, "If it's yellow and black, it's a school bus." Her deductive reasoning from my faulty implication was, indeed, flawless.

Speaking of our super-fun San Francisco trip last year, I'll post a few photos just for fun:

Strike a pose, there's nothing to it.

Tas fell asleep about halfway into our hike.
